Joshua McLamb aka Josh Mac was born June 20,1990 in Clinton NC and departed from this earth June 7, 2022, after a heroic battle with cancer. Joshua could be described as a loving, dedicated, generous, man of God and friend to all!
Above everything, Josh loved his family. He was a loving husband to his best friend Brittany, and an amazing father to his daughters Alanna and Rilynn. His pride and joy were his girls. Where you saw one you saw them all.
From a young age, Josh always wanted to be a firefighter and follow in his father’s footsteps. It was no surprise that at the age of 16 he did just that. Joining Salemburg Fire Dept as a Junior Firefighter and proudly serving for 16 years. As time passed his love for the fire service only grew stronger. Josh completed training and moved through the ranks serving as a Lieutenant, Board Member, Fire Safety educator, and one of the first paid staff members of the department.
Josh’s love and dedication to his community didn’t stop being a firefighter but spread throughout Sampson County while serving as Telecommunications Shift Supervisor for Sampson County 911.
While outside of being a fireman and 911 Supervisor, Josh took pleasure in hunting, fishing, going to the beach, and taking trips with his girls.
Although his family misses him immensely, they know his memory still lives on. He will always be remembered as easy going, for his infectious laughter, heart of gold and the best friend, husband and dad ever.
When you leave a mark on the world it speaks volumes!
“One of the best men I've ever known. He was a true friend that would give you the shirt off of his back, even if it was his last one! This world needs more people like Josh. He will be missed by all! Rest in peace brother!!”(Kevin Pearson)
