Lt. David Tatum, White Oak Fire Department, Bladen County, passed away around 1 today. Capt. Tatum responded to a vehicle fire yesterday and felt sick while at the fire. He left and went home and collapsed later. He was transported to one Medical Center and then transferred to another where he was put on life support. He passed away today.
Visitation will be Friday November 9th at Bladen-Gaskin Funeral Home located at 3131 Martin Luther King Drive, Elizabethtown, NC from 1800-2000. Funeral will be November 10th located at
White Oak Baptist Church located at 9724 North Carolina 53, White Oak, NC all Department apparatus attending should be at the at the Church by Noon. Burial will follow at the Grimes Tatum Cemetery in Dublin, N.C. Tatum is survived by his wife, Regina; his children David Tatum Jr., Chris Tatum, Lisa Mahoney, Michelle Brown and Thomas Layton; and 15 grandchildren. Mr. Tatum was a Lieutenant not a Captain as originally reported.
